About

Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT), was established in 1963. This prestigious institute is one of the premier technological institutes in the state of Karnataka, located in the town of Tumkur, Karnataka, India.
It is one among the 130+ educational institutions run by the Sri Siddaganga Educational Society. It became an autonomous institution under Visveswaraiah Technological University in 2007-08 with the last VTU batch graduating in 2010.
The Institute is one of the 14 Engineering Colleges under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) a World Bank Project, administered by the Government of Karnataka in the state and is granted Academic Autonomy from the Year 2007-08.
The Institute is spread over 65 Acres with greenery all over, and has a sprawling playground for indoor and outdoor games like, Football, Hockey, Cricket and Basketball.

To continuously strive for the total development of students by educating them in state-of-the-art-technologies and helping them imbibe professional ethics and societal commitment, so that they emerge as competent professionals to meet the global challenges.
Most of the students get internships in Mahindra, Pigeon, Four Seasons, Powerhouse Design and Sleek Architects. Top roles offered here are architect and house contract (residential). The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA.
CSE had 100% placements in 2021, and it has been the same for a long time. Other branches also have great placements according to one's abilities.
The placement rate of ISE (IT) department is approximately above 90%, and the average package offered is between 6-6.5 LPA. The lowest package is around 3-3.5 LPA, and the highest package is 29 LPA. The batch strength is only 60, so you have a better chance to get placed.
There are labs and well-maintained classrooms here. The hostel facility is good, and it has a good mess and canteen. Good support is given to students who like sports. There are Wi-Fi services, but they are chargeable. There is a medical check-up place where you can go if you have any problems.
The faculty members are well experienced and always supportive. Academics are always given importance. Many events are held in SIT, like project display, intercollege contests and cultural events. Students can have great exposure to all kinds of competitions, along with academics.
Their policy is fixed and well focussed on.
