Malnad College of Engineering is placed at 100th place in the NIRF Ranking 2020. The college received the “ISTE Award” in 2007, and was recognised as one of the Best Engineering Colleges in the Country.  Some of the most popular courses offered by the University are BE, MCA, and M.Tech in Computer Science, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Aided Design of Structures and Electrical Energy Systems. Admission in BE is made on the basis of the scores obtained in COMEDK UGET and KCET with a cutoff of 46971. For admission in MCA, Candidates must qualify the Karnataka PGCET entrance test. GATE scores are considered for admission in M.Tech programs. The average annual fees of a student enrolled in a BE programme is 2.38 LPA, MCA is 1.62 LPA and M.Tech is 1.31 LPA. MCE offers the Vidyasiri and Vidyadhan Scholarships to both economically marginalised students and candidates belonging to Reserved Categories. MCE’s faculty typically have work experience of between 15 and 20 years, and have independent research projects running in laboratories both on and off-campus.
