AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre was founded in the year 2002 in Mangalore, Karnataka. The Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS), Bangalore. The Institute offers MBBS/ MD/ MS/ M.Ch. / DM and Paramedical courses. MBBS program is of five-year duration with 150 seats, MD, MS and Diploma courses are of two-year duration with fifteen, four and three specializations respectively. AJ Institute of Medical Sciences also offers super specialty courses in M.Ch of three-year duration and DM in Cardiology program of two-year duration. Paramedical courses includes B.Sc. of three-year duration with eleven specializations and M.Sc. program of three-year duration with four specializations.

• Selection of the candidates for admission to MBBS is done on the basis of NEET UG.
• Admission to MD, MS, and Diploma courses is given through NEET PG and to M.Ch. & DM course is given based on NEET SS.
• Admission to Paramedical courses (B.Sc. & M.Sc.) is given on the basis of candidates merit in the qualifying examination and score obtained in the personal interview round conducted by the Institute.
• Applicants who have passed 10+2 with English as a compulsory language and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to get admission in MBBS programs.
• Those who have MBBS Degree or equivalent Degree from RGUHS, Bangalore or any other recognized University/ Institute are considered eligible for admission to MD, MS and Diploma program.
• Minimum eligibility requirement for admission to M.Ch. is MS Degree.
• For DM program, candidates with MD Degree are eligible to get admission.
• Students who have passed Pre-University Examination conducted by RGUHS, Bangalore with English as a compulsory language and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible to get admission in B.Sc.
• To get admission in M.Sc. program, candidates must have B.Sc. MLT Degree.

Eligibility Procedure For MBBS Course

Eligibility Procedure For MBBS Course A Pass in 12th Standard or Equivalent examination approved by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study, with at least 50% marks in aggregate of optional subjects. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
List of documents to be produced at the time of admission
12th standard equivalent marks card / pass certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
10th standard pass certificate for proof of date of birth - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
Conduct certificate from the institute last attended - Original only.
Eligibility certificate issued by the Register, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore ( separate application is to be made to the RGUHS )

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

MD / MS Degree and Diploma Courses:
A Candidate affiliated to this university and who has passed final year M.B.B.S. examination after pursuing study in a medical college recognized by the Medical Council of India, from a recognized Medical College affiliated to any other University recognized as equivalent thereto, and has completed one year compulsory rotating internship in a teaching Institution or other Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India, and has obtained permanent registration of any State Medical Council shall be eligible for admission.

D.M and M.Ch Courses:
D. M.: Candidate seeking admission for D.M. courses in any subject must posses recognized degree of MD (or its equivalent recognized degree) in the subject specified in the regulations of the Medical Council of India from time to time. M.Ch.: Candidate seeking admission for M.Ch course in any subject must posses recognized degree of MS(or its equivalent recognized degree) in the subject specified in the regulations of Medical Council of India from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria
Foreign National, Non resident Indians and People of Indian Origin:
Candidate should have passed 12th standard and should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects.
The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December of the year of admission.
15% of the total admissions each year (23 seats)
Should have documents to prove their NRI/FOREIGN status eg. passport, work permit, school certificate etc.
Inward remittance certificate from the Reserve Bank of India. Should have the eligibility certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) to pursue medical education programmes in the state of Karnataka.

Britain : G.C.E. examination of U.K with pass in 5 subjects at least at Ordinary level and 2 subjects at Advanced Level, or 4 subjects at Ordinary level and 3 subjects at Advanced Level.
Kuwait : General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (12 year course) conducted by the Ministry of Education, Kuwait.
United Arab Emirates : General Secondary Education Certificate awarded by the Ministry of Education, United Arab Emirates.
United States of America : 12-year High School Diploma of U.S.A.
Iran : Secondary School Certificate Examination (Community School Tehran). Sixth Year Certificate of Secondary Schools (Ministry of Education & Training) and 4th year Diploma of the Secondary Schools. (12 year course offered under the new pattern of School education).
