PSG College of Technology commonly known as PSGCT was established in 1951 as the first private Engineering Institution in Tamil Nadu by G.R. Damodaran. It is affiliated to Anna University and is located in Coimbatore. PSGCT has been ranked 63rd by NIRF 2022 in the Management Category. Popularly PSGCT offers courses in Science & Technology, Engineering, and Management. B.E. & B.Tech admissions are based on TNEA Counselling. While M.E, M.Tech, MBA, PGDM, and MCA are based on TANCET followed by TANCA Counselling. GATE is also accepted for M.E. and M.Tech. The PhD admissions at the college are based on GATE / NET / JRF / PSGCT Entrance scores.

Admissions are based on entrances and counseling conducted by Anna University or national level exams. There are also merit-based admissions for certain courses, which are based on previous exam scores. Plus counseling if required. The following facilities are available for both students and faculty at PSGCT:

• Library: There are over 2 lakh volumes in Science, Engineering, Management & Science on the whole. Also, an E-Library is available for journals and subscriptions. It has more than 15,000 journals from various publishers like ASME, ASCE, IEEE, ASTM, etc are available.
• Computer & Network: An internet of 1300 Mbps bandwidth is available on-campus. There are 4500 systems with 3500 LAN connections and 500 WAN connections. Imac machines are also available in the Media Laboratory.
• Sports Facilities: There are both outdoor and indoor sports facilities available. Including football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, and badminton, tennis courts and grounds are available along with indoor table tennis, badminton and basketball courts.
• Extracurricular Activities: A wide variety of student clubs as many as 20+ functions. Some of them are Dramatics, Animal Welfare, Astronomy, Serious Quizzers, English Literary Society, Entrepreneur and Readers Club, etc. run at PSGCT for extracurricular activities.
