NEET PG 2024: Candidates demand a full schedule, fearing a delay in counselling

Aspirants who have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2024 are expressing concerns about a potential delay in the counselling process for postgraduate medical seats. They have urged the authorities to release the full counselling schedule as soon as possible to avoid any further uncertainty.
The Medical Counselling Committee ( MCC), the body responsible for conducting NEET-PG counselling, has not yet released the official schedule for the 2024 round. This has caused anxiety among aspirants, who are unsure of when the counselling process will begin and how much time they will have to make informed decisions about their preferred colleges and courses.
In a recent representation to the MCC, aspirants have demanded the release of the complete counselling schedule, including the dates for registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting. They have also requested that the MCC provide clear guidelines regarding the reservation policy and the number of seats available in each category.
The delay in releasing the counselling schedule is reportedly due to the ongoing legal challenges surrounding the NEET-PG 2023 admissions process. However, aspirants are concerned that this delay could adversely impact their career prospects.
"We have been preparing for this exam for years, and now our future is hanging in the balance," said an aspirant who qualified for the NEET-PG 2024 exam. "We need clarity on the counselling schedule so that we can plan our next steps accordingly."
Aspirants have also expressed concerns about the potential for a compressed counselling schedule if the process is delayed. A compressed schedule could lead to rushed decisions and make it difficult for aspirants to secure their preferred seats.
The MCC has assured aspirants that they are working to finalize the counselling schedule and will release it as soon as possible. However, no specific timeline has been provided.
In the meantime, aspirants are advised to stay updated on the latest developments and prepare for the counselling process by researching colleges and courses of their interest.
