NEET MDS 2024: Over 5200 candidates sign petition to postpone exam

Over 5,200 Candidates Sign Petition to Postpone NEET MDS 2024 Exam

More than 5,200 candidates have signed a petition urging the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to postpone the NEET MDS 2024 exam. The exam is currently scheduled to be held on March 18, 2024.

The petitioners are requesting that the exam be postponed to July 2024. They argue that they have not had enough time to prepare for the exam due to a number of factors, including:

  • The delay in the release of the exam notification
  • The postponement of the NEET PG 2023 exam
  • The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

The petitioners also argue that postponing the exam would give them more time to complete their internships and clinical rotations, which they say are essential for their preparation.

The NBEMS has not yet responded to the petition. However, it is important to note that the board has postponed the NEET MDS exam in the past. In 2020, the exam was postponed from May to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is possible that the NBEMS will consider postponing the NEET MDS 2024 exam again. However, the board is likely to weigh the concerns of the petitioners against the need to ensure a smooth and fair exam process.

What do you think? Should the NEET MDS 2024 exam be postponed?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

In addition to the reasons mentioned in the petition, there are a few other factors that may be relevant to the decision of whether or not to postpone the NEET MDS 2024 exam:

  • The number of candidates who have registered for the exam
  • The availability of test centers
  • The logistical challenges of administering a large-scale exam during the COVID-19 pandemic

The NBEMS will need to carefully consider all of these factors before making a decision about the exam date.
