NEET UG 2024 counselling to start in third week of July
The Center has announced that the NEET UG 2024 counseling procedure will start the third week of July. The procedure, which consists of four rounds, is the last one to be completed for admission to medical colleges in India. Based on the results of the NEET UG 2024, an All India Merit List will be used for counseling. The candidates' admission to undergraduate medical programs will be guided by this list, which is ranked by All India Rank. The admissions process will follow the current reservation guidelines. The candidates will receive their All India Rank from the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the admissions officers will send out invitations for counseling. The admitting authorities will then create a merit list based on the All India Rank, ensuring that admissions are conducted within the respective categories. Candidates who are shown to have benefited from anomalies at any stage of the counseling process will not be allowed to reapply, the Center has made clear. This measure is to ensure the integrity and fairness of the admission process.
After performing a technical study of the NEET UG 2024 data, experts from IIT Madras discovered no evidence of widespread fraud or any specific advantage that could have resulted in aberrant scores. The Center's position opposing the requirement for a re-examination—which would impact almost 24 lakh candidates—based on what it considers to be "unsubstantiated suspicions” is supported by this study.CANCELLATION OF ADMISSIONS
